Lesson Structure:

Our lessons are booked on the hour and include one-on-one instruction - however, we do incorporate horse care and equipment knowledge into our lessons so the actual riding time may very anywhere from 30 to 45 mins - as education in horse care and equipment grows and more of that is handled with out hands on help, the ride time will increase. As for chosen discipline, we cater to your preference as we have many years experience in almost every discipline with safety as our main focus. By selecting yes, I agree, I acknowledge I have read, understand, and accept the Rules, Release and Hold Harmless: WARNING: Under South Dakota Law, an equine professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities, pursuant to § 42-11-2. Barn Rules: The number one barn rule is “no running”. The number two barn rule is “no yelling”. Please ask before taking any pictures as the camera flash could potentially frighten a horse. Do not feed, touch, or otherwise interact with any of the other horses on property with out permission. Not all horses are owned by MVEP, not all are friendly and some may have food allergies. Please throw all trash in the provided trash bins. Guest/Parents are not to enter the arena, turnouts, fields or stalls, they are not to interfere with the lesson, please save any questions for after the lesson. Parents/Guardians, you are responsible for your guests. Keep children off gates, fences and farm equipment. Be sure all guests are aware of all rules. You are expected to supervise your guests/children. You are welcome to drop off your child(ren) for their lessons, however we request that you let us know in advance if you will take advantage of this opportunity, we also ask that you return to pick up your child(ren) no later than fifteen minutes after the scheduled end time of their lesson. Dress Attire: Approved riding boots, long pants and an ASTM/SEI Certified horse-riding helmet, (this is NOT the same as your everyday bike helmet) please invest in your safety, $60 or less could save your brain. Students should not wear anything that is long and could get caught on the horse or riding equipment, or anything inappropriate, this is a family barn. An ASTM/SEI helmet may be provided for your first lesson, only if prior arrangements are made, by the time your second lesson is scheduled you should have purchased your own. If for some reason the above is ignored, you will be participating in a non-riding lesson. Lesson Rules: Students will ride different types of horses and will not stick with just one horse throughout their time at MVEP, Doing so helps them to be a more confident and competent rider. Rescheduling a lesson REQUIRES a 24-hour notice. Without a 24-hour notice you will be required to pay the full price of the lesson missed and it will not be rescheduled, the horse, instructor, and time have been reserved for YOU! If you plan to miss a lesson due to vacation, etc. please make arrangements as soon as possible for a make-up lesson. Rescheduled lessons must be taken within the same month they are paid for unless otherwise arranged with your instructor, otherwise they will be forfeited. Monthly payments are due no later than the 1st of every month. All payments for any and all services are non-refundable, no exceptions. Terminating the Agreement requires 30 days’ written notice, or a 1-month payment. Again, the Horse, Instructor and Time have been set aside for you!
